Glandular Fever.. Extremely sore throat.. Coughing up blood in phlegm...?

What you are experiencing is fairly common with a bad case of mono. The blood in your sputum is likely due to a secondary infection. Mono really tests your immune system. It is important to follow your doctor's orders, get plenty of rest, drink lots of fluids, and let the disease run its course. If your coughing and sore throat continue, you may need to see your doctor again to alleviate your symptoms. Mono can cause problems with your spleen in rare occasions, so make sure you take care of yourself. Again, the best thing to do is rest, rest, rest. Good luck.
