The number of victims of the Ebola virus in West Africa has reached 8220 people – TASS

GENEVA, Jan. 6. / Correspondent. TASS Konstantin Pribytkov /. The number of victims of the disease caused by the Ebola virus (BVVE), has reached 8220 people, 20 7126 – have been infected. This is evidenced by the data published by the World Health Organization (WHO).

All the statistics marked cases relate to the three West African countries – Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

In Liberia, 3496 people died and 8157 were infected. In Sierra Leone, who died less – in 2943, but there are more infected than in any other country – 9780. In Guinea, substantially less than in the two states, and the dead and diseased – in 1781 and 2775 people respectively.

On January 5, according to the WHO, in these countries the number of victims BVVE increased by 56 people and infected – 67.

Cases BVVE recorded in Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Spain, UK and US. However, in most of these countries the number of infected is not more than 10 people. The exception is Nigeria, where 20 cases and 8 dead.
